I am trying to purchase health insurance!?

but, i dont understand what the deductable is for? i have no health problems but i need the insurance to purchase some eye drops called restasis which cost about 220 dollars monthly, i got some quotes online and i saw some deductables that were 1,000 dollars, do i have to pay this to get the drops or is this for like surgeries or something and what is the coinsurace?

Uusally you have to pay the first 1,000 (or whatever the deductible is) before the insurance kicks in. Drugs may not be part of the deductible so you have to check the policy. There was an article in People this week about health insurance. Be sure you understand what is covered and what isn't. They are all not equal. When trying to get some for my adult son, I found Kaiser the most affordable. I am no fan of Kaiser but it was the best for the money.

Coinsurance would be if you were covered under someone elses policy also. Such as a spouses.

I would say try to find out about aflac they have some very good plans just yesterday I talked to one of the representatives and the plans and the payments look really good they actually pay all the deductable and of course everything depends on what kind of plan you got.
