How much money in the bank do you think is considered a lot? (Nothing outrageous like a billion dollars)

1 year of all your living expenses, I currently have $400 automatically directed into my saving account.

I keep 3 months expenses in the bank, more then that and I invest it. If anything were to happen my kids would be safe for 3 months, about how long it takes to liquidate the investment assests.Presently I have enough assests to live for about 20 years, not enough to retire yet, but working on it! If something happened to me that should be enough to see my children into adulthood and pay for their educations.
