Kryesore How does a Pawnborker work out the price he/she will give for a solid gold chain?
I recently pawned a 9ct gold chain on a buy-back contract and they give me a generous price for a gold chain I thought was only worth £100 max. To my suprise I was given much more, so I am now curious about the way they value an item.

They give usually about 20% of its current value. Sometimes its guseework. But they are never too far out.
