cos they like them but dont want to look at them. Its cliched and boring. Its always the same type of design and think its cool - trust me i work in the industry - its not. get an original idea and get it done where everyone can see it not just your boyfriend from behind.

it depends on where you have it. if you get the "trampstamp" right in the middle on your lower back, i think it looks trashy for the most part. i am all for tattoos that have meaning behind them, not just because you like it, or it is "in". girls do a lot of things for attention. and getting a tat on your lower back may be a way for that. not to judge or anything. and it is true that you cant really see it all the time.... so girls, dont get a tramp stamp unless youre a whore. it just doesnt look good.

I just got mine done there. and i make fun of the 'tramp stamp' and all that good stuff. But i had wanted the design for a few years and finally got it done when i made sure it was something that i would always want on my body. i have a modified star of life (the star on an ambulance) i'm a medic and its been the best thing i have ever done in my life.but when i had to decide where to get it places on my body started to get limited. nothing that i couldn't keep covered (so no arms, legs, neck) nothing that would stretch when i have a family (no tummy, hips, etc) didn't want to have it show if i wore a backless dress (no back) so that basically left the lower back.

I have a tattoo on my lower back. It's not in the center though. It's on the side. My placement revolved around what my tattoo was. (Side portrait of my daughter and the tattoo is where her head was when I was actually pregnant - done as a little celebration of her) In regards to others getting tattoos on the center lower back area, this is actually one of the areas on the body that will not distort should you get pregnant, gain weight, etc. In addition, it is an area where you have the option of either showing the tattoo or hiding it...your choice. There are many that get it because they feel it's a sexually placed tattoo but not everyone does it for this reason. Hope this helped...

i hate the tamp stamp, it's so completely over done that everytime i see one i cringe. my tats are on my hips and up my rib cage, they're hidden most of the time and yet if i want someone to see them their easily viewed, i'm happy with them and i don't feel the need for someone to be playing peek-a-boo with my ass. oh and i feel the need to rant on the breast tat as well if you feel the need to have something colored on you to draw attention to them, then they couldn't be all that spectacular otherwise they would gain the wanted attention by themselves.
