Well, i have had my ears pierced for a while, and just a couple days ago i decided to stretch/gauge them. This decision was on a whim; my sister bought the smallest gauges she could from a piercing parlor, and decided they were still too big for her. But that was over a year ago, and she has long since forgotten what size gauges she bought. She gave me her gauges, and i put them in my ears. Today i went to Spencer, and bought a pack of 3 retainers for the gauges - a size 14, 12, and 10. Originally, i thought the gauge my sister gave me was a 16, but the 14 retainer slipped in WAY to easily. and the 12 retainer wont fit at all. Can someone tell me what is up? Do retainers run smaller than gauges? or did my sister give me a larger gauge then expected? Also, i would like to know how i can find the exact size of my sister's gage. I have visited websites that tell something about diameter (which is impossible to measure) and ive seem some pictures (but all were out of scale) thanks.
