I want to get a tattoo of a lily on top of my foot. I know its going to hurt but how bad is the question? doesn anyone have one and how bad is the pain? I know it is well worth it.....Im just curious.

I dont have one but I heard the pain is horrible. This is a very sensitive spot. Just think about it how think is your skin on your foot? It's very thin and its going to really hurt on that bone...makes me cringe just thinking about it.

Also as someone else noted, this is a place where it usually fades faster because of having to wear socks. And considering the pain, i dont think you will want to have to do touch ups all the time.

I would consider somewhere else.

I will be honest, it will hurt like no other pain! i have a tattoo on my foot and the pain was unbearable. It made me very sick to my stomache. I have 2 other tattoos and nothing compared to this pain. I would chose your ankle or calf. Not a good idea. the tattoo also wears off in certain spots due to rubbing on shoes and how often that skin exfoliates. I would really consider another spot. good Luck!

I got a tattoo on my foot 3 weeks ago. It is pretty small, so it only took about 25 min. and let me say, I am so glad I didn't get it bigger because it hurt! This was my 3rd tattoo and it hurt the worst. However, I love it! My foot was my first choice to put the tattoo, but after hearing some stories of how much it hurts, I almost placed it somewhere else. I'm glad I went with my first choice. It hurts, but I was able to stand the pain for as long as I had to. I would consider getting another one on my other foot. As I've only had it 3 weeks, I can't tell you if it is true that they fade faster than other places. Good luck, and maybe take a friend with you and squeeze their hand if it hurts!

That is the most painful area of the body to tattoo. It will be bad, if you have other tattoos, then double the amount of pain you felt with those and you will have an idea of the pain this will be. Yes it will be worth it so just be prepared!

I have a large tattoo on the top of my left foot. It took almost 2 hours to complete and I did not think the pain was unbearable at all. Yes, it was painful at times, but I took a friend with me and whenever I felt the worst of the pain I would redirect my attention completely to her, and I had no problems. I've even had a touch-up on it, and didn't think was too bad.

It all depends on your pain tolerance, but be prepared for some intense pain.

Tattoos on your foot are super sexy and cute, don't worry about it at the time- think how great when its done! I have a flower on my foot It is not on my toes, but close. I will be honest I have one on my lower back and shoulder too. The pain from my foot was the worst. It hurt really bad, but was way worth it and I would do it again in a second. You have to be very caution because the healing process is not the same as regular tattoos. You must keep that open and not able to rub. I cute a whole in a cheap pair of shoes so it could be exposed for 2 wks. Yes, crazy! You really have to plan when you get one especially if you work. Also, make sure you don't get anything to detailed because overtime the colors will expand and it will look like a blob, and nobody wants that. It is because there is so much pressure on your foot and the ink will expand. I hope this helps, good luck!
