i've been with my bf for almost a year an a half now...and im happy being with him...but there's something that i don't like about him...that is..whenever he talks...he doesn't care about my feelings...and say things that hurt me..even though its not on purpose..he did not think before he speak..i told him seriously that i don't like it when he does that..n it really hurt me..but he always thought that im just joking with him..haiz...what should i do?

Try to educate him with a positive way, if nothing change i dare to bet with u that ur relationship will not longer than u think. Think it, if u married with him it is all of this good for u to face everyday? You still have a chance to make a move. Sorry if my word make u feel sad.

Honey, there are six billion people in the world, and about half of them are men. You can throw this one back and find a new one.Seriously, if you really love him, try counselling for couples. If he won't go, go yourself. The therapist can give you good ideas for communicating -- and let's face it, if you don't have good communication, it's really hard to have a good relationship. If he doesn't change after counselling, or you still feel hurt by what he says, find someone else. If you are unhappy, eventually you'll make him unhappy too. Better to have a break-up than a full-fledged divorce.

This might be harsh..If you've told him and he still thinks you're joking, then he's either very slow to get the point, or you might be leaving room for doubt. Nobody who cares for someone WANTS to hurt them, so don't leave any room for doubt.Next time ask him why he says hurtful things, wait for a reply, and STOP TALKING. Don't explain, don't elaborate, just state it plainly and let the silence be filled by HIM. If he still doesn't seem to get it, then ask "Are you trying to break up with me?" and then STOP TALKING. (talking further can distract from your question, which he needs to address)The silence might be awkward, but force HIM to do the talking, and DO NOT respond to anything he says unless it is a direct answer to one of those two questions. If he responds with anything other than an answer, say nothing and continue to look at him as if you're still waiting for his answer This will force his hand, so to speak.. he has to address your question. (or his lack of an answer might BE his answer) and if he really thought you were joking, he won't think that anymore.If he really didn't know that it hurt you, he will now ..and it is a good time to discuss feelings and boundaries. Let him know what things bother you, and prepare for him to do the same. (nobody likes things that one sided,so be prepared for defensiveness and take it in stride.. besides, you might be doing something that bothers him, too )You might find some security issues there, possibly a fear of getting too close .. maybe he sees that as a vulnerability and wants to keep a certain distance.. who knows? But it will either tell you that your time spent with him wasn't such a good investment, or it may open him up and you move to a new level of understanding.Of course, free advice is usually worth what you pay for it.
