you will still need to care for them the same way as you would if the plugs were still in. your earlobes will probably be extremely sensitive during the healing process as you're trying to grow new skin. from a 4g there is the chance that your earlobes will always be stretched out. i wish i could give you an exact answer for how long it will take to close, but i can't. i'm honestly not certain that they will completely close.the difference between getting pierced in a shop as opposed to in a mall is that you have been pierced with a hollow needle. with a piercing gun, the skin is simply pushed out of the way. with the needle, the skin is removed entirely.someone mentioned using shower soap to wash them with - in my professional opinion, that's a really bad idea. soaps made for the body are much stronger than you really want to put on what's basically an open wound, not to mention the fact that they're usually also full of fragrances and dyes as well.you most definitely need to visit the shop where you had them done and talk to the artist in question. most artists (reputable ones, anyhow) have experienced piercee's remorse and will be able to give you personalized recommendations as far as the best course for you to take to undo what's been done.
