| ...over from Tony? I think it's undemocratic that Gordon can assume leadership of our country without a vote by the electorate but feel some optimism because of his wishing to involve politicians of other parties in Government policy. Also, his intervention in EU negotiations yesterday suggest his early days in power are going to be quite interesting.I will always choose the best answer, it's my question and a best answer can differ from my own view if it's well reasoned. Also, all forums attract a greater proportion of *bunny boilers* than are in the general population, i ain't going to let that be a factor.Cracked up laughing cabron o, as Voltaire said, i may not like what you say but will defend to the death your right to say it. =)

| I think Brown will do much better than Blair in the overall sceme of things, as you say yourself, his early days are going to be quite interesting. I think he has more foresight than Blair when it comes to the important things and making choices. So far he has a keen eye for environmental issues and I can see him doing well in that area (if not as good as what other parties have to offer) and the british troops coming home is surely a step in the right direction. The end of media politics has got to be good. I just want to know that they are getting on with their job and doing what they are supposed to be doing. All in all, he will do well, and take our country a little further and closer to some kind of clean up, even if it is just a drop in the Ocean! However, in my honest opinion, it is only a matter of time before things start to go a bit pear shaped and we begin to see the ways of any other politician come in to play...as in...lies, not living up to promises and losing respect!

| I can only hope that we don't have Yo Brown in number 10. Although for obvious reasons it is advantageous for the UK to have good relations with the USA (survival in the face of sheer lunacy) I hope that Mr Brown will apply guid Scots accumen to this relationship and finally sever the puppet strings.

| After the dust of Gordon's 'election' settles except for a few cosmetic changes thing will remain the same. Remember this man has gone along with every one of Bliar's schemes for the past ten years. Unlike Robin Cook who resigned from the Cabinet over the invasion of Iraq he (Brown) was party to it. Oh, just a thought you can bet that whichever apparatchik he appoints as Chancellor taxation will continue as before.
