Ametop Gel for Tattoo's ?

I'm getting a tattoo on Monday and I'm worried about the pain (see question preparing for a tattoo ). I have had ametop gel recomended. What do you think ? I no it will take the pain away, but more importantly will it effect the tattoo and make it go wrong ?

you don't need anything to take before having a tattoo, the pain is not that bad, and I've got quite a few tattoos, it's more like being scratched, but bearable, so stop being a p ussy and just go for it!!!

Dont use anything it really does not hurt when gatting a tat unless you are getting it in a tender area even still i wouldnt use anything

i have got a tattoo on my lower back. it hurt a bit but nothing like what i thought the pain wud be. Honest there not that painfull i wud have another one anyday it just tingles a bit. your be fine.

i have 2 , on my arms it aint that bad trust me. but under ur arms hurts like a sob

I find tattoos quite painful (outline has made me cry on a couple of sensitive spots). Hasn't stopped me from getting seven hours' worth, though! I like Topicaine gel for numbing. It helps quite a bit on those long sessions. It's specially designed to absorb through intact skin, so you put it on about an hour before your tattoo and get numb beforehand. Because your artist will wipe it off before starting the tattoo, it doesn't interfere with the process. I haven't found it to have any adverse effects on my tattoos (color, healing, et cetera).
