When you're in the page to write your blog, the default format for the page is the rich text editor. You can't use HTML here, you have to use the preset options available. The third icon from the end in the textarea toolbar is the option for adding an image.

Alternatively, you can checkbox below to write in HTML mode, where you can use image links.
