Hard time in Canada? I am an international student in Vancouver, Canada. I want to know something about my life here.
I am living in a homestay with my guardian, who is aslo the landlady of the house. However, there seem to be much fight between us. The landlady often asks me to do some chores for her. I do help her sometimes but of course, I am not always available as I need to study or sleep. However, it seems that I have no right to refuse her at all, once I do so, she will just keep harassing me, either shouts at me or keeps knocking on my door. Aslo, when she loses something, she always tells other people that I had stolen it, which later turned out to be wrong. On time she even open my bag and rummage through it to check if I had stolen her stuff. Whenever I protest to her, she always says that she is my guardian and can also be regarded as my 'mother', so she can do everything she wants upon me.
So folks, I just want to ask if she really has the rights to force me to do any thing. Thank you!
