Back Surgery and Losing Weight? They said people who gets back surgery gains a minimum of 20lbs. I had mine just 6 months ago and dr says I need to loose the weight, but not able to walk much and this is the only thing I am allowed for exercise. How am I able to lose wt? I have cut my calorie count as low as it can go without effecting my health, and based being sedentry.Tell me your experience and any suggestions or how you overcome it.I also just been declared permanently disabled with limiting 15lbs of anything on occasion. Thanks! Can not walk to certain extent due to nerve pain/damage and swelling in one foot which I am in extreme pain all the time. I do walk but it's very limited. I have already made all my issues/pain etc. known to this dr, my last vist was 2 days ago, he declared me permanently disabled and I will not see him any longer. The only exercise he suggested was walking. I did go swimming, okay scratch that, get in the pool and walk around but that irriates the situation. Activities end up hurting me to point I'm bed ridden sometimes for over a week, dependent on what it is, for example - having a fuctional assessment test, or a fuctional job placement evaluation test, had me bed ridden almost 2 weeks! Dr lowered pain med's and will not up the dosage, period! He's mean! LOL
