that was long enough ago that you've got your work cut out for you. i would check old news articles. usually that is mentioned somewhere. if not that, sometimes you can get a copy of an old police report. your aunt/uncle should have a copy of the report or at least the report number. their insurance company would as well.if those dont work, theres not much you can do 12 years after the fact.
