The point in a party is so your child has fun with all their friends on their birthday, i certainly wouldn't take 20 odd kids to the park! i agree with you about the pressies, i always get my son to open them infront of the person and thank them, then send out thank you cards! the cake, well, i always put in the party bags, they have enough sweet things at the party so i give it so they can take it home to enjoy it!i can't stand parties where there's like bouncy castles, clowns, chocolate fountains etc, maybe for a 9-year-old but my son is three and all the parties we have gone to have been so over the top! my son's party was so bog-standard and all the kids had a blast!my birthdays used to consist of a party - end of! no bouncy castles, clowns, donkey rides, cocolate fountains, just kids having fun, playing with eachother and singing ring a ring a roses! it's got so OTT now!xx Sarah xx
