Kids' parties - not the same anymore.? My dau has been to a few parties over the yrs, and in every one a tiny slice of birthday cake was put in a 'doggy bag' to eat at home!! I thought the whole point of the cake was to eat it at the party, all together. What's the point of a cake if no-one gets to see it properly at the party? You might as well use jaffa cakes. Also - presents. I was brought up to open the present when it's given, in front of the person, and say thankyou. These days, you don't even get to give it. You put your gift in the pile of gifts, which go in a black bag and get opened at home. Younger kids don't even know where the gifts have come from, as they don't associate the name on the label with the person. What's the point of a birthday party if the kids just play for an hour then eat junk? They can do that in the park. Please no-one tell me to get a life. If you don't like my question, move on to the next one.
