i got my belly button pierced about 4 monthes ago. the guy who did it told me that i couldnt swim in the ocean or chlorinated water for 2 weeks. also when they first do it all you have in there is a metal stud which you need to keep in for a month or two.but the best way to ask her.. well my mom let me get mine done as a gift becuase of my good report card. i'm 15, and some places dont even let you get it pierced unless your 16. but i'd say your best bet is to be nice about it and make it sound like you've earned it.
