Okay to start you need to buy stage 1 nipples... You will unscrew the top and remove the stage 2 nipple and put in the sage 1. The stage 1 is a slower flow. The bottom of the bottle unscrewes for cleaning but the rubber piece stays in the bottom for feeding. The tab should face up towards the nipple. You dont need to use liners with the ventaire bottles Hope this helps
