Vegans who arent american...thats just stupid? Why would anyone who isnt american be a vegan? In america i can understand a little due to the genetic manipulaion of chickens and ows to produce more but in Europe that does not happen. Cows are pretty much always kept outside. Many chickens are free range and the option of buying free range eggs is possibly even easier than non free range. If you think milking cows is cruel then you have obviously never been on a farm and seen it in person. And the eggs that are laid are unfertilized and are laid regardless of human activity so how is that in anyway cruel?ive seen some fairly uninformed answers here. It bothers me because of this vendetta they have against farmers. The truth of the matter is most vegans do not understand farming and many have never been on a farm in their lives yet they rant on about how cruel farmers are and all these practices that they employ as cruel owners who do anything for their money. Its how people make their money and then idiots like PETA start ranting on about how ALL farmers are cruel, they make no distinction between natural farming and american style factory farming and then all these naive 10-15 year olds who buy into it. And for health reasons? what are these supposed health reasons the protein derived from red meat/chicken is more easily digestible and of higher quality than those proteins from nuts. Ill put it this way name one succesful athlethe who is vegan or would succeed eating a vegan diet. The only reasons humans brains are as developed as they are is because we ate meat.and this is to selektap: It is people like you in particular that annoy me. "Heifers" do not even produce milk. Heifers have never had a calf or were even pregnant. Cows do not have to be pregnant to produce milk. They will produce high yields for up two years after having a calf and will still produce milk in tehir third year. And if you are so worried about them having calves how about you go out into the wild and stop them mating since they have calves at least every second year in the wild.Cherie A: We do not take fertilezed eggs! How is it exploitation. They will just abandon an unfertilized egg. And as for how i would feel if a cow coveted my mothers milk...that is such a stupid point. They do not have feelings on the same level as humans, wild animals do not have the capacity to think "oh thats a beautiful chicken" so unlike some people here i don not value their lives as much as a humans and no one should.Chunderuk: The meaning of sentient is to be emotionally capable of response. Animals such as cows are not capable of this, they are capable of instinctive responsives. Yeah id say an animal out in the wild who is unsure of food supply, at risk from wild animals of attack any moment is much much happier than one who is out in a paddocked field full of grass...the answer is neither are happier because they are incapable of emotion. Im sure that a black man picking cotton in a field is also incapable of emotion...yeah?
