What concerns me is why you are even asking this question. You can't live in both worlds. As a federal agent, I have to live by ethical standards set forth by the government both on duty and off duty. Law enforcement officers (LEO's) are constantly in the public eye and under unforgiving scrutiny. Any hint of unethical, indecent, or criminal behavior is almost always blown out of proportion. You could be completely law abiding, but your affiliation alone with a group that is negatively perceived by society will tarnish your reputation irrevocably. You sometimes need to make sacrifices in order to maintain a positive public image. Hope that helps.
