Hi !!!!!! Ok, a friend gave me the book "Becoming Babywise" by Gary Ezzo, before I had my first child, and this is where I got this idea from. IT WORKS!!!!! IT WORKS!! THANK GOD THAT SOMETHING REALLY DOES WORK..ok. it has to do with scheduling. You are in charge, NOT the baby. You will be giving the baby opportunity for optimal growth and health by putting baby on a schedule.Every 2-1/2 to 3 hours, from the time you wake up, baby should be eating. If baby is sleeping, wake her/him up!!!!! dojnt be a "clock-watcher", but make sure you schedule feeding around the general 2-1/2 to 3 hour time frame.Feed baby, and KEEP HER/HIM awake for at least 15 minutes, this regulates metabolism. DONT LET BABY FALL ASLEEP WHILE EATING> he/she will be "snacking", not eating a meal, which is what baby needs in order to thrive on a schedule . I know its hard to keep a drowsy baby awake...but you have to in order for this to be established and work. A cool cloth acros the forehead, undress and re-dress baby, change diaper...whatever it takes. Now at nighttime, let baby wake on her/his own. Dont worry about schedule at night., just make sure baby is getting FULL MEAL.Follow this system faithfully, and it will pay off for you SOON!!!My son slapt thru the NIGHT by 7 weeks, and my daughter did at 5 weeks ( i started this after 1st week of birth, but anyone can put their newborn on a schedule at anytime, and the baby will adapt and thrive, and MOMMY WILL SLEEP TOO!!!!!!!Just remember, you are in charge...and have to be..So try this and I guarantee it will work within a few weeks..Good Luck and Blessings to your sweet, little one!!!
