If you have the space and the cot is not convertable buy a toddler bed and without any fuss put it in the bedroom. We tried (and it worked) reverse psychology with our twins.Once the bed was in place we waited for them to ask what is was and told them it was a bed for good girls and they could not sleep in it unless they were very good. That night we put them in thier cot (with the sides off and pillows/spare duvet on the floor)Next morning you guessed it they were fast asleep in the Good bed. We only had one fall out and the transition was very quick.
